Biomes
There are two main biomes of Glacier Bay National Park. A Taiga is one of the biomes of this park. About seventy percent of Glacier Bay’s environment is a taiga. Taigas usually have long, cold winters with an average winter climate of -14 degrees. Taigas consist of heavy snowfall and abundant cool air masses as seen in Glacier Bay. The second biome of Glacier Bay National Park is a tundra. About thirty percent of Glacier Bay’s environment is in a tundra. Tundra environment are extremely with low amounts of vegetation.
With the cold environment Glacier Bay is constantly in, many tidewater glaciers have been able to formed through the area. Fifteen tidewater glaciers can be found in Glacier Bay.
Location
Glacier Bay is located in the state of Alaska, west to Juneau. The park can be found on the Glacier Basin which is towards the southeast end of Alaska. Glacier Bay borders Alaska and is only about 50 miles away from the country's nearest province.
