Founding
Glacier Bay National Park was officially recognized as a national park on February 25, 1925. Using the Antiquities Act, President Calvin Coolidge named the area surrounding the Glacier Basin as Glacier Bay National Park. It wasn't until 1978 when President Jimmy Carter massively enlarge the the national park's acres
Brief History
Before the U.S. government even located Glacier Bay, they were people already settled in the surrounding area. For years, various tribes, such as the Eyak and Haida, had occupied Glacier Bay's land
